What can be used in soap, sculptures and artwork? Salt!
Salt is not just for making your food tasty, it can do so many things! Kids will use salt to make soap luxurious, add texture to paintings, and create their own play dough. Be prepared to get a little bit messy while we explore this incredible material!

Hi, I’m Corrina! I believe the best learning is all about exploring interests and curiosities. As a BC certified teacher with qualifications in Special Education and Urban Education, I have lots of experience helping K-7 learners dive into new ideas to spark their imaginations and sense of wonder. My favourite topics to explore with kiddos are all things science and outdoor education, especially through hands-on STEM activities! If I weren’t a teacher, I would certainly be a Marine Biologist, as ocean life and biology are two of my favourite interests! I love digging through tidal pools looking for interesting marine life and treasures. When I am not teaching, I enjoy hiking, sailing, and playing beach volleyball with friends. I also love playing with my cat Mika, or reading books about adventure or mystery.

Box of salt, shampoo or dish soap, watercolour paper, paintbrush, masking tape, water, 2 cups flour, 2 cups hot water, vegetable oil, cream of tartar, food colouring, containers, spoon, popsicle sticks, 2 zip loc plastic bags, goggles
