BC Time Zone Update – November 2026

British Columbia has moved to permanent Pacific Time (UTC−7) effective November 1, 2026. Most of BC will no longer change clocks twice a year.


How to update your device

Windows 10 / 11

  1. Open Settings → Time & Language → Date & Time.

  2. Turn on Set time automatically.

  3. Select (UTC−07:00) Pacific Time (British Columbia) if available.

  4. Click Sync now.

     

Mac / iPhone

  1. Open Settings → General → Date & Time (Mac: System Settings).

  2. Enable Set Automatically.

  3. Ensure the time zone is Vancouver.

  4. Install available software updates.

     

Microsoft Outlook / Teams

  1. Open Outlook → Settings → Calendar → Time Zones.

  2. Select Pacific Time (British Columbia).

  3. Restart Outlook and Teams.

  4. Verify meeting times.

     

If you're still seeing incorrect times

  • Restart your device and browser.

  • Clear your browser cache or try incognito mode.

  • Install the latest operating system updates.

  • Verify that your time zone is set to UTC−7.

Important: If you use an online portal or scheduling system, verify that activities and appointments display at the correct BC local time.
