The Oracle: Creative Writing

A six-week online course in which we create characters and take them on a quest in a magical world.

This is the second Adventures in Arcana quest for seasoned adventurers who’ve already taken The King’s Champions activity. The Oracle is a role-playing fantasy game-style learning experience. Kids learn creative writing techniques and go on an epic adventure in Arcana! They also work together to creatively solve problems. Plus, kids will earn gold coins for writing, kindness and cooperative play, which they use to buy goods in the game, to level-up, and to access new special abilities.

1 Your Guide

Shawna Audet Learn more about me

Do you see life as an adventure? Me too. When I’m not riding my unicorn or battling grogs in Arcana, I am skiing, skating, or seeing the world my family. Summer is about swimming, family camping trips, and running in the woods with my dog, Skyla.

On moonlit nights, my family likes to challenge other families to laser tag battles that we do while skating on the frozen lake near our house.

2 Materials Needed

1 binder, lined paper for writing, and a pencil. *3 printed documents: Arcana map, binder cover sheet, and character sheet (please see pre-activity resources for these printable sheets). Learners who want to play the same character that they created in The King's Champions Quest will use the character sheet that they created in The King's Champion class. *Note: Many kids like to use a set of DnD dice. If you don't have a set of dice, then that is no problem.
