The Great Writing Challenge

A NaNoWriMo writing group!

Kids will challenge themselves to complete an epic writing project during National Novel Writing Month. In October, kids will plan, worldbuild, develop characters, and build the skills they need to complete the project. During November, kids will share progress and do fun writing prompts each week. Please note, a waiver will be required to access the Young Writer's Program Website during November.

1 Your Guide

Alecyn Lea Learn more about me

I'm an artist, a speculative-fiction writer, tiny-home dweller, mediocre ukulele player, and a true believer that you can figure out how to make anything you can dream up. Most days, I can be found slinging some mud around on my pottery wheel and trying (and sometimes failing) to prevent my new puppy from chewing on absolutely everything. In addition to my degree in education, I have a bachelors of fine arts and I love volunteering at my local literacy organization! I speak a little German from my time living in Berlin (where I led a weekly STEM club for learners) and I believe every subject in school should be guided through the lens of Art.

I strive to live as sustainably and off-grid as I can. My big dream is to move into a tiny, off-grid, cabin in the forest to make pots all day, especially if I can have a couple of goats (maybe even tiny goats!)
