Sticker Book Camp: 8-10
Make a sticker book and stickers by hand.
If you’re someone who can’t have too many stickers, this camp is for you! We’ll make handmade stickers using paper, wax paper, tape and your favourite art supplies. Then you’ll learn how to hand bind a sticker book, add your own sticker collection and mix ‘em in with the stickers you made.
1 Your Guide
Amber Santos is an art educator and artist with over 25 years of experience, including 15 years in online education and creating 65+ activities for the HomeLearners Network. Her multidisciplinary practice is deeply rooted in her German heritage and reclaimed Métis and Anishinaabe culture and includes paper craft, textiles, painting, and more. Amber inspires kids and youth to draw inspiration from nature and their gardens and yards. Her activities combine technical fundamentals like colour theory and the elements of art with somatic, wellness-centred art practices. A painter and muralist with an on-going studio practice, she also spent seven years curating the Nelson International Mural Festival of which she is a co-founder. All of the visuals that you see in Amber's activities were created by her hands!
When I'm not making art, find me listening to music on full blast in the kitchen, dancing and making food for my family:)
2 Materials Needed
Paper, drawing supplies, markers, scissors, packing tape, wax paper, card stock. Optional: Label or sticker paper, a laminator and laminator sheets, exacto knife and cutting mat (with grown-up's help)
