Seasonal STEAM Hour: Cyclone in a Bottle
Create a magical weather pattern in a bottle!
Learn about the science of a vortex and make your own swirling, sparkling cyclone experiment! We will use recycled materials to craft our own weather creations.
1 Your Guide
I'm an artist, a speculative-fiction writer, tiny-home dweller, mediocre ukulele player, and a true believer that you can figure out how to make anything you can dream up. Most days, I can be found slinging some mud around on my pottery wheel and trying (and sometimes failing) to prevent my new puppy from chewing on absolutely everything. In addition to my degree in education, I have a bachelors of fine arts and I love volunteering at my local literacy organization! I speak a little German from my time living in Berlin (where I led a weekly STEM club for learners) and I believe every subject in school should be guided through the lens of Art.
I strive to live as sustainably and off-grid as I can. My big dream is to move into a tiny, off-grid, cabin in the forest to make pots all day, especially if I can have a couple of goats (maybe even tiny goats!)
2 Materials Needed
2 plastic soda bottles that are the same size (with lids), hot glue *parent supervision, tape (packing tape or duct tape), water, food colouring, glitter
