French Games & Songs - Flex series
Let’s have some fun with French!
This flex series is great for beginners who are new to the French language. Each week we’ll focus on a theme (like colours, days of the week, clothing) and explore the new vocabulary through games and songs. Our aim is to have fun with French and learn new ways to describe yourself and the world around you!
1 Your Guide
Hello and Bonjour! My name is Jenn. I speak English and French, and have been lucky enough to teach in both languages for over 20 years, from one coast of Canada to the other! I’ve been an elementary school teacher, a home learning parent to my two kiddos, and even drove a huge classroom on wheels (the COW bus!) to teach preschoolers about Science. As a certified Yoga instructor with a background in dance, movement and theater, I believe we are meant to move our bodies in different ways, every day! I am also a student of breathing and meditation, and love to help kids find their own path to mindfulness. My family and I live on Vancouver Island, where we spend lots of time at the beach, hiking and camping. Being outdoors helps me tune in with nature, calm my mind and learn about all the living things around me. When I’m not traveling or teaching, you can find me curled up with a good book or covered in dirt in my garden!
Fun Fact: If I wasn’t a teacher, I’d be a librarian! I love children’s books, especially reading them aloud with different voices and accents.
2 Materials Needed
Please print out the weekly handout for each session, and have the following supplies on hand: Pencil, eraser, scissors, glue stick, coloured pencils/markers
