Bees are an important part of our ecosystems, and they need our help! Building a bee hotel is a great way to provide a safe and essential shelter for our local bees. Using household items we will create beautiful bee hotels, to help support these important critters!
1 Your Guide
Hi, I’m Corrina! I believe the best learning is all about exploring interests and curiosities. As a BC certified teacher with qualifications in Special Education and Urban Education, I have lots of experience helping K-7 learners dive into new ideas to spark their imaginations and sense of wonder. My favourite topics to explore with kiddos are all things science and outdoor education, especially through hands-on STEM activities! If I weren’t a teacher, I would certainly be a Marine Biologist, as ocean life and biology are two of my favourite interests! I love digging through tidal pools looking for interesting marine life and treasures. When I am not teaching, I enjoy hiking, sailing, and playing beach volleyball with friends. I also love playing with my cat Mika, or reading books about adventure or mystery.
2 Materials Needed
A Tin Soup or Bean Can or a Large Plastic Bottle, Art Supplies to Decorate, Sheets of Scrap Paper or Straws, Scissors, Pencil, Tape, Glue, One Toilet Paper Roll, Twigs from Outside, and Two Long Pieces of String.
