In art history, the fathers & grandfathers are usually the ones we hear about that started specific art movements such as pop art. We’ll focus on the women who made their mark instead. No previous experience needed.

I’m of German Canadian, Anishanaabe and Metis descent. I’m a practicing artist with over 20 years of exhibiting and selling paintings and drawings, painting murals and teaching art!

I’m a beginner surfer—I’m not very good at it, but every wave I drop is worth the hundreds of wipe outs.

2 Materials Needed

For Art Herstory, you are welcome to choose the materials that you want to use to respond to the artists’ work. Here is a list of supplies that you might like to use during this course. You could use something as simple as a pencil and a piece of paper to respond through drawing. Alternatively, learning about the artist and their work might inspire an idea and opportunity to use some materials that you have on hand. (Drawing, painting, collage, textile, and/or sculpting supplies)
