Get ready to paint, sculpt, design and create! In art lab, young artists will explore a different art medium each week, from watercolours and clay to collage, mixed media and more. Through fun, hands-on projects, children will experiment with new mediums, techniques, express their creativity and build confidence in their artistic skills. Theres no right or wrong way to create, just plenty of opportunities to imagine, make and have fun!
1 Your Guide
Hi, I’m Corrina! I believe the best learning is all about exploring interests and curiosities. As a BC certified teacher with qualifications in Special Education and Urban Education, I have lots of experience helping K-7 learners dive into new ideas to spark their imaginations and sense of wonder. My favourite topics to explore with kiddos are all things science and outdoor education, especially through hands-on STEM activities! If I weren’t a teacher, I would certainly be a Marine Biologist, as ocean life and biology are two of my favourite interests! I love digging through tidal pools looking for interesting marine life and treasures. When I am not teaching, I enjoy hiking, sailing, and playing beach volleyball with friends. I also love playing with my cat Mika, or reading books about adventure or mystery.
2 Materials Needed
Watercolour Paper (or normal paper), watercolours, scissors, paint brushes, clay (or modelling clay), pastels, glue, old magazines or pictures for collage, pencil, markers and any other craft or art supplies you have at home!
