1 Your Guide

Lauren Bourgeois Learn more about me

Since I was able to hold a pen, I have loved to draw! I loved seeing my imagination come to life through lines, colour and shading. My passion for drawing and creating has led me to many new pursuits like digital arts, sewing, cooking, crafting, and experimenting with different art materials. My favourite types of creative projects weave new interests, ideas, and skills together! This same learning approach is embodied in HomeLearners Network activities, which is why I am so excited to be a Guide! My love of drawing led me to complete a Bachelors of Media Arts, afterwards I worked in film and animation for sometime. With a strong desire to share my love of learning and creating with others, I decided to become a certified teacher. Fun fact, I am fluent in English and French and have really enjoyed teaching in both languages throughout my career.

When I am not teaching or creating, I like to spend time wandering out in nature, perusing the local library, bouldering, or playing with my two cats, Sophie and Alistair.
