2 More About my Activity

Would you like to use gravity to create cool pieces of art? In this activity, you’ll design and build your very own pendulum that drips paint onto paper as it swings back and forth while exploring force and motion. At the end, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind work of art that you can share and display.

3 What Materials Do I Need?

paper, pencil, string, scissors, masking tape, paper cup, tempura/acrylic paint, long stick (i.e. broom handle), 2 chairs, floor covering (i.e. newspaper, garbage bags, etc), paper towel or old towels, container for paint, paintbrush

4 I learn useful skills too?

  • Creative thinking
  • Critical & reflective thinking
